17th Century Farmhouse Restored

This farmhouse, built around 1620 brought the kind of challenges that we see a lot in these fabulous old buildings. Whilst the bends and crooked corners are precisely what gives them their charm, it can present challenges when it comes to building and maintenance. It’s crucial that such projects are dealt with sensitivity and care. This property had been covered with a pebble dash surface probably dating back to the 1970’s and this had then been painted over. The years had taken their toll and patches of the render had broken off in places. Some areas were very thick with render and others very thin. Maintaining this was also an annual and time consuming task for the owners.

We used a architecturally appropriate brick slip for the property and took this right across the full exterior of the house, carefully attending to every nook and crevice. We paid great attention to details around the windows, the eaves and the porch so that both the close-up and the overall effect were equally stunning.

Great guys offering a high standard of work. We are extremely happy with the outcome of having our whole house done! Jemma Garland
